Deborah Chodacki received her Bachelor of Music in Performance with Distinction, Eastman School of Music and her Masters of Music in Performance, Northwestern University School of Music where she studied with Stanley Hasty and Robert Marcellus respectively.   Deborah Chodacki is well-known as soloist, chamber musician, and teacher of clarinet. She is currently Associate Professor of Clarinet at Louisiana State University School of Music. Previous appointments include Professor of Clarinet at the University of Michigan for fifteen years, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and East Carolina University School of Music.

She has taught and performed at festivals, music academies, and schools on four continents, including many of the major halls of western Europe, the Montreux Festival in Switzerland, the Musiksvereinshall in Vienna, the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds in Italy, Lithuania in eastern Europe, South Korea, China, Bogota and Medellin, Columbia, the Banff Center for the Arts and the Royal Conservatory of Music, Glenn Gould School, Toronto in Canada.

Ms. Chodacki has appeared at numerous schools and conservatories across the USA.  A returning guest artist to the Skaneateles Festival, Finger lakes, NY for over two decades, Ms. Chodacki has also played with the Colorado Philharmonic, North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, the Toledo Symphony, the Alabama Symphony, among others.  Her concerto and chamber music performances have been featured on NPR’s “Performance Today” Ms. Chodacki’s students have gone on to earn positions in such organizations as: the Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Kansas City Philharmonic, Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA, Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, the ‘President’s Own’ Band, and teach in universities in the USA and around the world.  Former students have earned concerto appearances with the Chicago Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Columbus, OH Symphony, and many others. Serving as a judge for many competitions, Ms.Chodacki is currently an ambassador for the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and she has been listed multiple times in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
